Autism

Autism

Autism Spectrum Disorder is a neurobiological, developmental disorder affecting 1 out of every 88 children in WV. It is diagnosed through identification of a pattern of behaviors that include unusual social interaction, deficits in communication, and unusual or repetitive behaviors or interests. Evidence-based treatments using the methods of applied behavior analysis are most widely recommended interventions, and result in a lessening of symptoms if provided early and intensively by well-trained therapists.
