Anxiety

Anxiety

Anxiety is a normal part of life for everyone. It can even be helpful in certain situations, such as preparing to meet a deadline. However, many people experience anxiety that is excessive, overwhelming, and feels uncontrollable. When anxiety begins to interfere with your life in meaningful ways, this may be a sign that you have an anxiety disorder. There are several anxiety disorders, including generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), panic disorder, social anxiety disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and specific phobias. Anxiety disorders are the most common psychiatric illnesses, but they are also highly treatable.
